I am aware this nsfw ban does not directly affect me, but It’s still infuriating, at how incompetent the staff is to handle a problem, and instead decides to nuke it all, screwing over countless artists, especially those who make their lively hood off this site, just cause of a few bad apples and an app store, way to go Tumblr, way to go.
Not only that but frankly speaking, i was planning on starting an nsfw tumblr blog eventually, but it seems that’s not gonna happen anymore given this new rule as it won’t be allowed, not to mention it doesn’t seem my art gets much traction here anyways.
So what’s next?
One of two possibilities:
I either put Tumblr on low priority and start more social media on other sites that allow both sfw and nsfw, and if i do post to tumblr again, likely i won’t post everything i make, and the wait time for posts will be drastically increased due to being low priority.
Or I abandon Tumblr completely and migrate elsewhere, seeing as all others are doing it and I’ve lost a great chunk of respect for Tumblr due to it’s incompetence.
I likely will be starting a Reddit, and a Newgrounds account since it seems that’s what people are doing lately, and both allow both sfw and nsfw. I’ll update what few who follow me on these when i make them.

Oh look a traditional drawing, haven’t done one of these in a while, this started as a doodle but escalated and every time I do a doodle 90% of the time it turns into a full drawing and i’m like “whoops”
I plan to redesign Somo Otora completely sometime soon, and i think i’m not gonna make Somo an anthropomorphic cat anymore, as well, it would give the vibe of me being a furry (which i’m not) this isn’t to say i don’t still like anthropomorphic animals, but i likely will draw them not that often, and i feel making the protagonist in my story would give the vibe of them being some furry character, to which i feel it’d be; well… bad for getting the story out there, not only that but it’d be very difficult to work with, and it may drive off a lot from my story, not only that but even without the bad reputation the furry fandom has, even without that, anthropomorphic characters are pretty hard to draw not gonna lie. (also to clarify i don’t hate furries, nor do i think they’re bad people, but i’d rather not be associated with the bad apples in that fandom, nor any fandom really, i try to stay away from most fandoms, especially ones known for a very questionable fanbase, to which i don’t want to attract unwanted attention.)
That being said, Somo Otora will likely be a Neko, but not an anthropomorphic cat as originally planned. Though i plan to take Somo a very different route from most Neko characters in anime (i say anime because that’s what i hope to make my story into one day), i’m not gonna be doing the usual trying-too-hard-to-be-cute irritating trope that follows Neko characters, i HATE that trope with a passion, the only thing i really like about Nekos is how they look (not all the time though cause as i said some Neko characters look like they’re trying too hard to be cute, and it’s both awkward, and annoying), Somo Otora will be a different approach to the typical Neko trope, she will act as any other normal human character, and not like usual Nekos, though maybe having some physical advantages given being part cat; maybe she will be more agile, maybe she will have naturally sharp nails or be able to turn her nails sharp (as one thing i plan is most species may have a natural knack for certain types of magic or already have natural born abilities based on what species they are and maybe that could be one for Nekos in my story, yes it’s a small power but most natural born powers will be small so it’s not a giant advantage or too ridiculous, something that makes sense.), maybe her appendix is stronger allowing her to eat raw meats that humans typically can’t or it would result in illness, maybe her pupils dilate or shrink like a cats depending on the emotion she’s feeling, or maybe all of the above, still mapping this out and deciding where to go with this, but because of this change, i will be fully starting from scratch on Somo’s design.
I may have anthropomorphic characters in my story still, but likely very few, and on the side or in the background; but i feel making my protagonist that would be a bad decision.
I may or may not do a pride piece, but sadly it may be a day (or potentially longer cause i SUCK at due dates), but yeah, may take time to make it cause i’m busy and have a trouble shifting focus from one piece already in progress to a new one and pausing the one in progress.
